A rare Officer's Greatcoat in splendid condition to the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. The Greatcoat has a total of 13 regimental "Little Black Devil" buttons. This greatcoat is of great officer quality, such a nice piece. To the shoulders, one black rank star per side, indicating the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, however more holes on the epaulets suggest that there were originally possibly more rank stars on there. Nice sewn on "Canada' shoulder titles on both sides. Interior in very good condition and lined, made by Orth Ltd. Quality Clothes, which was based in London, Canada. To the interior pocket is a name and date label. The greatcoat is named to, I believe it says, E. L. Drewry (hard to make out). I have not yet done research on that officer but that is a potential future research opportunity. The greatcoat is dated January 19th, 1945. It's in great condition for its age and has been well preserved.
Overall a great late WWII dated Royal Winnipeg Rifles Officer's greatcoat.
