Treasurese…

This is another treasure that I stumbled upon at the local Goodwill store. I was looking for a case of some sort to store pieces if vintage jewelry that I post for auction on a website to earn credits to bid on items that I desire when I spied this miniature (13"x6.5"x7") steamer trunk. Thinking this would be ideal for my purpose, I picked it up only to discover that it wasn't empty. Upon opening it, I found that it housed this lovely little (12") porcelain doll. After looking a little further, I found the trunk to have 2 small hooks with 2 more dresses on little hangers & a drawer below that stored the young ladies wrap or cape. The doll was carefully wrapped in 3 or 4 layers of tissue paper & there was a thin satin ribbon attached to the case & tied around her waist to secure her. As I gingerly lifted her out, I found a card in the bottom of the case. It was a Certificate of Authenticity stating that she was an original creation by Ashley Belle & a piece of a limited edition & one of 5,000 pieces. She has the 'Ashley Belle' signature on the back of her neck. The card says her name is 'Lilian' & her design number is either 02777 or 02711. It is hand-written with the signature of the person that she was 'officially approved by'. I was thrilled with her because I am always looking for something different. I believed I ended up paying less than $5 for her, case & all.
Ashley Belle although one of the better and more known doll company's, makes mass produced modern porcelain dolls. If you would google the name the results are endless.
