I found this a few weeks back, the price was too good to turn down. Ive not seen any like this one. I thought it was just beautiful. I would love to know more about it. Really not sure on age to this. Missing the key. Didn't see a name either. But it really has character. I love the flaws! It has a burn mark on top from an iron. Thanks for any help!
Looks great. Not an antique yet (100 years old)-- looks to date from the 2nd quarter, 20th century.

Thanks for the help guys! Picture of inside coming up.
Very pretty!
I have seen one on the net which had the same spindle decoration. They said it was from the 1970's which is possible. Probably made by Lane which was a big time cedar chest maker. Unfortunately the net is rather young so finding much there can be a big chore.
Thanks Phil! I have seen other lane similar to this one. But didn't see the lane on it anywhere. I could see 70s. I wasnt really thinking that. But you could be right. Thanks for your input!
Yeah I too believe the date may be wrong, say maybe 40's to 50's. My mother had a cedar chest which I now have.
How nice to have family items. Most of my memories from family items, I had to buy similar to remind me. Either other family got them. Or what I did get I was too young at the time to take care of.
