Based on the style of this plate, I believe, it might date back to the early part of the 1900's. The plate is unmarked but the construction of the bottom part reminds me of German porcelain pieces. I even checked my book on RS Prussia but I could not identify the mold of my plate in the book. But there are many other companies that made similar porcelain plates during this time, so I will have to keep looking.

    Any comments are very welcome.

    Thanks for looking:)

Beautiful. It could be RS Prussia. Have you held it to the light? If you can see your hand through the plate when held to light, I'd feel confident calling it RS Prussia.

Many thanks for your comment, Jenni! I was wondering what kind of flowers they are. Peony sounds about right. I will search a bit more now:)

Scottvez, thanks so much for your comment. Right after I read your e-mail, I went upstairs to check my plate. I think, the verdict is not 100% clear. I can see the shadow of my hand through the porcelain, but not very well. I tried with and RS Germany celery dish and it worked as well. The thing is, that the material/porcelain the two dishes are made of appears different. The celery dish (I will post it next time I get a chance) is very thin and has a satin feel to it. The dish I posted here is a bit thicker (not as thick as some other porcelain dishes I have) and seems to have a shiny gloss. I think that the style of my plate is RS Prussia but I have to keep looking to make sure.
When I checked for information on RS Prussia, I also came across some very interesting facts about the history of the porcelain manufacturer. Some of it was a bit confusion (involving RS Germany/RS Tillowitz, two factories in Suhl, and brothers who were no brothers after all ... ) and I have to spend some quiet time to read it again:)
