    Not sure of this item purpose. It was as aaaquired by my great aunt in the mid sixties as she was traveling through Europe. She visited France, Greece, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Moracco if that helps at all. Any info would be appreciated.

      I disagree. This is for wine (probably), but a liquid.

      Could be buss-- on closer inspection, I see there is no release on the small end. I'd expect that for powder.
