At long last the mythical/rare/scarce/HTF/desirable Buddy L "The Rebel" 4×4 Bronco is in my possession. To the best of my knowledge this completes my collection of Rebels. If you know if any others not shown in the last picture, please tell me.
The Rebel series was Buddy L's entry into the unlicensed Dukes of Hazzard game. Several companies made toy cars emulating the General Lee. It was easy put a Confederate Flag on it, paint it orange and give it a Southern/Confederate/Rebel/Dixie name and hope you don't get sued by Warner Bros. I know Gay Toys(LOL) and Processed Plastics did get sued by Warner Bros because of their General Lee clones. I'm not sure of the outcome or if anybody else got sued. The court documents are hillarious to read!
The first three pics are the 4×4. I'm very pleased at the overall condition, especially the stickers. The last pic is my completed collection with an extra trailer with the Camaro with the chrome windows/hood scoop/grill version. The van, 4×4 and especially the "Kenworth" car hauler with the smaller Camaro are the hardest to come by. The car hauler is mysterious, it's the only one of the series made in Japan. I've only seen one on Ebay,in England and I immediately bought it. I've only seen 2 4×4s, one was a junker that I'm in the process of restoring/customizing.
The long journey is at an end and now the graven Buddy L Rebel images can be worshipped at my leisure.
Thanks for looking, yours truly,
Happy Bill
