I just found this gorgeous cake plate this morning, and I love it. It is made by Imperial Glass and is the Open Rose pattern, with rose designs on the back and the front, and it has small foot on the base, which is called a collar. I am not sure of the colour - it is almost clear as a base colour, but is very iridescent in the right light. I even found a mark on it dating it from between 1951 - 1973. The plate is just over 10.5 " across and it has a problem on one edge, where it has a lot of bubbles and is slightly flatter on the rim!
Totally gorgeous, this is carnival glass at its finest!
As an aside Adele, I was really rooting for England in the World Cup match yesterday, but look at how well they did overall getting to the semi final, great team
Beautiful piece!! I just bought the same piece, but in milk glass about a week ago. We took a road trip about an hour from our house. I found this lovely piece, as well as a few other treasures. Thanks for sharing!! Beautiful in the carnival glass!! Love it....!!
Thank you Newfld and TimeTraveller. We are very proud of our young England football team, even if they did lose! I found my plate in a charity shop for £3 - what a bargain!
