dukester
(1 item)
Found this in a neighbors garbage the other day and am thinking about restoring them. I have never seen a fixture like this. I imagine it is 1930's or newer with all the light sockets around the outside and inside. Just looking to get some sort of description of what it is, country origin, when built, style name ect. fixture is very heavy. and seems to be cast plaster / ceramic.
I decided to run a magnet over the fixture and the top rail of the frame is magnetic. Maybe some sort of re bar material used in the casting process. Also the shaped arms that go up look to be steel but not magnetic, so maybe brass or white metal. Maybe the fixture frame is not plaster and is white metal or some similar metal that is non magnetic.
Thanks for any help
They definitely didn't need to be in the garbage -- GREAT SAVE, dukester!! (and welcome to CW, too!) I can't help you ID them but would suggest another possible origin -- with their cast plaster construction and general decoration style, I'd have to wonder if they came from an old movie-palace theatre building?
I can't help but think that in all that sh-t, there is an overhead fan sans blades.
