I normally do not buy these sad irons as they are a dime a dozen, but this one is not like one I have ever seen. I gather that it is late 1800s/early 1900s due to the curved wooden handle. You see it in as found condition. I have dusted it off but otherwise have not cleaned it. I parted with 7,95/$9.27.

UPDATE > I happened to notice that on the inside of the top is a Star of David and have discovered that it means: Star Of David Musterschutz copyright. German made, of course.

Such a fabulous antique iron, I love all that fancy sculpting with bird head on the handle, originally this was a very grand iron
