These additional glass pieces by Kralik, are not in their better known styles and fabrication, I think that by the time they were providing their decorative glass to the Chicago Butler Brothers wholesalers, they had created new more economical glass lines, which made it worthwhile financially to ship to the USA from Czechoslovakia.

My catalog gift selection image is dated 1928. Kralik had no idea that by the end of the following year, a major financial disaster would occur with the New York Stock Exchange, which would plunge the USA into a deep depression for several years, and affect all their trade partners at the time. (image 4)

I believe that all the glass pieces in the gift pack were produced by Kralik. That is part of what I am doing on my site, exploring the less familiar Kralik decorative glass, showing image examples, which form a very cohesive glass selection.

My pieces displayed here show the diamond optic translucent glass, which was applied on the inside surface on the body and on the outside surface on the base. They both have hand applied glass applications and tooling for the handles, and for the lattice top. (image 1 and 2)

This small vase piece in a shape that was used for many decors by Kralik, has a spatter base on a vaseline glass body, and an overall clear glass application on the surface, a sort of open web textured decoration. (image 3)

Stunning vases, each one beautiful in a different way - the lovely pink with ribbon handles, the open web which reminds me of a crown, and that fantastic mosaic with spatter base, all totally gorgeous - great trio!

Yes, I remember Alan. It is great when after more time and more glass examples you can come to a definite identification. That vase shape was used for many Kralik decors. As seen in the rewritten post. Mine has the Kralik arch mark so it just confirms what we think. :-)
