This W & H co locket has an added piece that looks like it may be from the "mask" era. I am trying to find more information about this locket.

Your locket is American, gold filled, by William & Hough. Design on the front appears to have had a black enamel outline. I'm thinking about 1880 - but someone else might know the American jewel fashions better than me & might be more accurate.
