I have spent hours on line but, so far, I have not been able to find one like mine. Based in the size and the design, as well as the wear to the gilding, I am fairly confident to say that it is an antique friendship cup/beaker. I also base that on some comments vetraio50 made on one of my other postings: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/242546-interesting-vintage-vase and on some of vetraio50's postings. Vetraio50, if I am wrong, I hope you will forgive me and I will delete my reference to you.

Other than some wear of the gilding, the beaker is in perfect condition.

    Thanks for looking:)

PhiDMorris, thanks so much for your comment! I love the colours, too. So far, I have come across only very few of these items in light purple. I believe amber and ruby ones are more common/popular.

Definitely Bohemian and antique, early to mid Victorian years, what is called Beidermier style, with a mix of cut to clear glass areas, hand painted flower motifs, and a colored flash finish here in a beautiful amethyst shade.

Gotta say I'm surprised the more experienced collectors of this glass here on CW, did not say anything about it. Not my true area of glass knowledge, but you should know something about it. The little I known.

Many thanks for your comments and link, truthordare and Findings. Sometimes things just fall though the crack or don't get noticed.

My grandmother was very, very old - born in the late 1880's and she and her sister had a lot of old stuff. For that reason, being around vintage and antique items, I can often tell when something is old but I am no expert. Also, we lived very close to the former Czechoslovakian border and people and goods traveled more freely early on. I remember seeing similar pieces in my grandmother's house and they might have very well been from Bohemia:)

Findings, I don't have too many books on antiques and I find it very difficult to get specific information about makers and patterns, etc. on line. Sometimes it feels like a wild goose chase. I will, however, have another look into what my cup might be, based on your information.

Many thanks to both of you:)
