I recently got this at a yard sale. The owner did not know what it was.
I think it's part of an antique street light or the top of an old oil/kerosene lamp. The top section appears to be made of brass or copper but is painted white. It has room for a 2" to 3" flat wick. It also has ridges where a glass cover could be attached. The bottom is made of a material similar to porceline and has threads to screw onto a base of some sort. I have searched everywhere and have found no other object like it. Hopefully, someone can identify this. I plan on removing the white paint to show its basic copper/brass body.
