Measures 16.5: tall and 7.5" wide. The bottom of handle is acorn shaped. Possibly some type of ceremonial hatchet? Item was purchased abought 30yrs ago at an antique auction in Estanollee GA. Any help identifying would be appreciated.

Considered a pipe tomahawk even if handle not hollowed out? Also the hammer shaped end is not hollowed out like a bowl either. Just wondering if others were made similar. Thanks for the info..

Yes there were hammer ended tomahawks. Those tended to be used by settlers who needed a dual purpose tool. Generally called a trade axe. Sadly this one looks like a decorator item.
