Now this one really is intriging, not only did it take me half an hour to untangle but I'm still unsre whether its worn round the neck or midriff. Its over 24" long but again I am not sure if the leather bit was part of it or its an add on, perhaps some of could enlighten me. Neil

If I had an expensive little hoity-toity pooch to carry in a special satchel, this is what I would want for my impressive dog leash for those unavoidable times the special one would have to have it's little feet on the ground.
The leather one looks like it has a wrist strap. Both have rings for something to be attached....maybe a beautiful dog collar?
i think they could be bell pulls to summon the household servants. The fancier one maybe in a front room where guests were received--it looks like it was meant to impress. The leather, less fancy one, maybe in a bedroom.
