    Hi guys,

I created an account just to get some leads on what this trunk might be. A lady had this trunk for sale for $20 and she had no clue how old it was. I know nothing about trunks except they look cool.

So... does anyone know how old this might be, or who made it? Eagle Lock Company mechanism, small lock hole with a dot in the center and metal round mechanism that it fits into on the box. no numbers that I can see, metal hinges, canvas on wood, metal banding with slats. The top has a slight curve on it. There is a card nailed to the top that is unreadable, but the side facing the wood has red edging. Lined with some sort of paper or thin canvas on the inside. The trunk has small metal wheels on four corners.

Any idea where I should look for a manufacturer’s label? I don’t immediately see one.

    Unsolved Mystery

I call this a flattop even though it has a slight bow to it, some people call it a bow top, because of the latches on the front, I would say early 1900's 1910-1920 give or take, probably has no trunk label, many trunk makers didn't put a label in, this type of trunk was made by just about everyone at the time. the tag could be a destination tag, name and address. some of the hardware is older than 1900's but some hardware was used for decades, hope this helps, greendog.
