TheGrandes…
(1 item)
I’m hoping someone can help me identify the origin of this ring. It is my grandfathers though I am not sure if it was his Army ring from WWII or if it was given to him by another family member. My grandfather has passed away and I was fortunate enough to have him live with me for his last 8 years as he battled Alzheimer’s Disease. He was my sidekick and best friend and I miss him dearly. Just curious about this ring. From my memory, he didn’t wear it at all and had given it to my brother years prior, who gave it to me after his passing. If you have information please reach out! Thank you in advance.
What a lovely blue ring, it is sterling silver as it is engraved inside, I hope some of our CW military enthusiasts will recognize it for you. The special memories of your grandfather are wonderful, in my family also the elders were great people with a wealth of experiences to share, they are sorely missed as well
Your ring is pretty thrashed and will probably be hard to identify. What service was he in? Such rings were typically purchased by the soldier as a personal item. I have a couple of rings from my army service, one purchased at the post exchange to commemorate completing my training (silver) and one for my service unit (gold).
The face of the ring appears to have an eagle facing right & down like feeding young or killing (a snake ?), and perched on a crown. I would think the Mexican flag except it's facing the wrong way & crown.
