Here is what i found at a car show swap meet. This was in a box of other jewelry and I pulled it out and asked the man how much he would take for it. He said "I was at 200 but ill take it for... $5." We laughed and I said i'd take it for that. It wasnt ticking at the moment but every once-in-a-while I would look at it and I thought it was at a different time it was previously. I was sure it was wound up but I never saw it moving.
After a while I started experimenting with it as I was holding it upside down and flat and sideways. Then I started to notice the hands free up and it began ticking. It is sitting flat on my desk ticking away but if i were to move it, it usually stops. I want it professionally fixed but as origional as possible, i think if it took it to a jewler, they would try and replace everything in it. I love the simple design of it and i have always wanted one like it. Also, is the 55 posted on the inside a production number? Thanks for reading
