This decor is described in the Loetz documentation as (loosely translated) "ribbed and sprinkled with creta and silver with silver inside". I've seen it on two other shapes. Both were mounted bowls - one a floral form, the other a wide shallow bowl. This piece is interestingly made - the ground is yellow, and it has a stem that is applied and seats down into a round metal finial (see third photo for a good view of this). It is a ribbed form with creta green, silver and red iridescent oil spot decoration. The interior has a nice silvery blue iridescence. The metal stand is very ornate, and I don't know who made it - so if anyone has any ideas along those lines, please drop me a note. Thanks to glassinspired for allowing me to bring this one home. :)
A very beautiful piece of Loetz Glass, and the ornate metal stem, brings out the metallic look of the glass, so that the whole piece appears to be metal. Very nice! :^)
Rats, you beat me to it! I was hoping to save enough to buy that one!!!! I especially love the mount/bowl combination. Beautiful piece!
I've been working on him for a while to get this one :)
