I have not found any good jewelry in a while. For that reason, I am posting this brooch. It is nothing I would wear because I cannot figure out what I would wear it with! But then again, maybe I am making things too complicated and I should just bring that black dress out again - LOL.
It is my understanding that these kind of brooches were made using the original molds/stampings, techniques and designs from the 1920's and 30's. Pierre Bex made this kind of jewelry up to the 1980's. Someone described this jewelry as Art Deco revival. I actually prefer the term revival, rather than Art Deco style.
Here is a link to a catalogue page. You can find my brooch on the left in the lower part, just above the earrings.

Thanks for looking:)
Gorgeous deco style brooch, I really love this and think it would look fabulous on a black dress, go for it! Amazing how they can antique a piece, the only way it looks newer is the clear glaze over it
Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Newfld. You are right about the glaze. The good thing, though, is that the glaze keeps all of the rhinestones in place:)
Vetraio50, as always, I really appreciate your love:)
I wonder if it is something you could wear in your hair ? Sometimes the simpleness and yet highly recognizable utility of the design can bring the illusions of class and timelessnessof eternity.
I've seen many of these which are quite colourful and wanted to buy a couple, but I thought I'd be wearing a fake of some kind - didn't know the history then. Thank you freiheit! You have a very lovely brooch - don't know how big it is. Would be so good if you did get the black dress out!
