I will try my best to describe the historical record gathered and put together circa 1929 by "C. M. Smith USS New York". He painstakingly cut and pasted historical events, people, places, Navy life, everyday life, cartoons, jokes, newspaper articles and historic ephemera from Battleships that have long since been scrapped.
You can spend days reading this collection and still find things that you missed. It's hard to explain everything that is in this handmade collection of Navy/Military slices of life.
Fascinating piece!
Loaded with great historical notes. Wish I could read them all !
Wonderful vintage photos and journal of bygone Navy days, particularly nice that the assembler included a personal photo of his wife or girlfriend. A real treasure, should be in the Smithsonian
