These Singer Featherweights EE152500 dated Aug. 25, 1947 & AH327272 dated Oct. 28th, 1947 both have the rarely seen "Bakelite" motor w/ Yellow fonts. The British version is a 230-250V motor while the other is a 110-120V. A 3rd in our collection (not pictured) Serial# AH556369 April 20, 1948 also has the Yellow font 110V motor.
The Singer Model 221-1 owner's manual {Form 20332 (Rev. 248) pictures this scare motor on pages 24 & 27. (the only manual to do so).
The motors were short lived e.g. August ‘47 - Apr, ‘48, both in Great Britain and the US, as machines made/ assembled in previous and later production runs no longer have them.
We were very fortunate to happen upon these unusual & prized collectables!

      Nancy,
Thank you...we've been fortunate in finding some scarce/ rare pieces for our group. This particular machine has little to no vibration and runs "s m o o t h !"
      It's a "little sweetie"

I just purchased a British 221K Featherweight that has this same motor on it except it's marked Made in Great Britain and is 220 volts. My machine is dated Dec. 24, 1947 and is in the EE serial number range. Has anybody ever heard of this version of the bakelite motor before? The machine itself is in almost pristine condition.
