    Small 6 inch greenish vase with dark specks. It’s signed Mayher, no luck looking up potter. Sometimes a well done simple design vase can be just as pleasing to the eye as anything else that’s out there. Any luck with identification would be great, curious what other works are out there by this potter. Thanks for looking

      Probably the work of Caroline Mayher of Brooklin, Maine. She was a student of Japanese potter Henry Okamoto the co-founder of the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, N.Y. She also studied under Makoto Yabe. She embraced the style of Japanese pottery and that influence can be seen in her work. I recently added meoto yunomi set by her to my collection.

      Mayher very often uses a speckled finish on her pottery. My yunomi have a similar glaze to the bottom of your piece.
