This oil on canvas painting is 8" x 10". There is another work by him/her on CW. Not sure this artist is still active as most references to their work are several years old. The distortion at the top of the painting is because the canvas needs to be re-stretched at the top. It was apparently stretched very loosely as the canvas does not appear to be damaged, just too loose. Very colorful little painting and well done for tourist art. Note that the stretchers are very rough and probably made by the artist. The material used for the canvas in uncertain. A $1 thrift shop find.

I have spent a bit of time in Haiti & have regarded their art. They like to put African animals, that they have never seen, in their art. It can be bizarre, but seems to fit in.
