Thrift shop find today. Someone else already posted this one, in this color, on CW a year ago, but they only made one post and never posted again, have zero loves/likes, etc., so I am posting mine because no one can stop me. Mwahaha. The previous post didn't show straight on shots of the handle or the bottom, though. Also, that post says that the pitcher holds 54 ounces and mine is the same size and only holds 48 ounces of water. From spout to handle, mine measures 8.25 inches. It is about 8" high and 5.25" side to side. There was also a note taped to the inside of mine that reads "Iridescent Amethyst Carnival Heirloom Pitcher Made by Indiana Glass Circa 1970's", the same as the title to the previous post, so I am guessing someone got that information from CW.

Indiana Glass does have this #7372 pitcher listed as 54 oz. in their 1978 catalog. The pattern was initially made in crystal as #123 'Paneled Daisy and Finecut' c1905. The pattern was reissued as 'Heirloom' in carnival glass in the 1970s', and also sold thru Tiara Exclusives when reissued as 'Monarch' c1970s-80s.
Could the catalog listing mean weight of the pitcher as opposed to the volume of contents (fluid ounces) it will hold? The earlier posting takes the stance that it holds 54 ounces, but I actually filled it with water and it only holds 48 ounces of water... I don't have a scale that measures precisely enough to determine the weight of the pitcher...
catalogs listing for pitchers typically indicate fluid ounce capacity filled to the rim; not sure how accurate that really was tho'. The measurements match what you have noted above.
Guessing not too accurate, then, as I filled it until water came out of the spout. Measured water as I put it in and as I poured it out. Mold variations may be to blame for the discrepancy. Maybe thickness of the walls of the pitcher?
Is someone making glass under the Indiana Glass or Colony/Indiana Glass company name again? I thought I saw some at Walmart, but my research says they closed in 2002. The glass I saw is marked Made in USA. I don't think it was marked Anchor Hocking or Libby, but I could be wrong....
Indiana glass factories did close c2002 but they were a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony, which is still in business. Tho' the company has transitioned mostly to food service. Not sure where those molds went or if Lancaster Colony still has control of them.
