I believe this compact to be European and looking up the silver marks it could be Bohemia & Moravia from around 1942. They did use the 900 silver content. I have no idea who the maker is PA. Any help would be much appreciated.
I like the engravings around the edges it’s a heavy compact and it would have made any lady happy to have had this as an accessory. I also wonder what history it could tell us, from the early years of WW2
Many thanks for looking
The mark was used in Czechoslovakia after 1929 and the compact was most probably made before WW II.
Wow Jean, this compact is so lovely!!:-)
IVAN, thank you for your comment, I thought it could have come from Czechoslovakia, but I edged my bets and went for Bohemia & Moravia.
Now that you have given me the country I’ll try and find the maker. IVAN your a wizard at silver marks, yet again thank you.
Awwww Judy, I’m trying to get all of my compacts and cigarette cases onto CW. I think it’s a really good idea of keeping a record of what I have and with this particular compact I now know it comes from Czechoslovakia. Thanks for passing by I very much appreciate it.
Many thanks
