By Fenton Art Glass Company to celebrate the American Bicentennial in 1976. About 4" high and 4" in diameter. Supposed to be red slag glass, but kind of light on the slag part in this one. A $1 thrift shop find. I was shocked when I found it, because it screams "quality" when you pick it up. A bit darker and less orange in real life, but hard to get much detail unless brightly lit, and it has a lot of detail. It actually makes a great paperweight, compared to many of my other paperweights as it has many surfaces for grasping it and has a nice weight to it. Very functional. Not overly patriotic, either, since that is inscribed on the bottom. Lot of nice textures on this one. A pleasure to handle.
Thanks for loving my eagle paperweight!
