Well I’ve nearly come to the end of my Compact cases and cigarette cases, they’ll probably be a couple more lying around.
This is a Marcel Rochas silver compact, I’ve done some research Supposedly they introduced this compact around 1944, it seems
strange because WW2 was still on going.
The design as a chantilly lace lid, luckily in the middle there is a space were normally the initials of the person that owned the compact would have been, apparently it’s better if there are no initials.
Inside at the bottom of the compact there are markings Marcel Rochas Paris and around the edge of the lid D5.35. On the back there is Made in France at the opposite side there is a R underneath a square with the letter M a pair of scissors R.
I read somewhere that these compacts are suppose to be rare, I’ve seen a couple on google and Pinterest.
Many thanks for looking
