Got an email announcing the creation and publication of a new website, by a Prague collector. It is a very elaborate site. The language is Czech but I expect an English translation. This project must have taken months to accomplish with several collaborators, it would have been interesting to know more about it.

Some category's such as Loetz, Kralik and Welz are well represented, others not so much. The topics are also a mix of Bohemian-Czech producers, wholesalers, refiners etc from 1890 or so to 1938, or supposed to be.

Ruckl's glass category shows a very few examples, a few tango pieces (image 1)I have never seen, a few cameos, one vase identified by the Truitt line drawings (image 4), one with a recent metallic partial Ruckl label, one with an acid stamp, glass product also recent, and several that share a Kralik-Ruckl identity, which leaves me curious since it's the red peloton decor I collect which is also called Kralik on this site. See my CW post .

I'm surprised that none of the satin shimmy pfau glass pieces are shown there (image 2 and 4). I also wonder why a large Czech glass producer that is still in existence and is very well known in the Czech Republic would be so limited in it's scope. Ruckl is going through a metamorphosis in the last two years, they are opening Art Glass boutiques in Prague, with a whole new line of gorgeous decorative glass and crystal. It's understandable that I find this site's omission unjustified and odd, as a well informed Ruckl Art glass collector, with my own website, and an investment in this company's recognition and appreciation.

    ---------------------------------------- Edited
2 months later: I have changed my perception to some degree about the subject matter of this post and the new website in question. After some personal discussions and studying the site content again, I had to consider that this is a collector's representation, based on his tastes and probably on the potential future value for his investment.

The content is more of the Bohemian era glass than Czechoslovakia Art Deco glass, also most likely based on documentation by the Passau Glass Museum, and his collectors/sellers information he was able to learn from.

It looks like several pieces were sold to this person several years ago by people we know, as they were also posted here. The relationship was a very positive one, and may have grown into a Bohemian glass website project.

What about the Ruckl glass? Since Ruckl did not fit into the main focus I gather, as most of their art glass is pre WWI, and they are not a great investment at the moment, as their identification is spotty, but for a few exception. It makes sense that this new website's Ruckl category is small in content, and not focused on the Art Deco lines produced by them. Is this consistent throughout the site, no. But there again, personal taste and preference comes into play.

The site is interesting mostly because of the long list of makers gathered in one place.

The Michel & Mayer page comprises 3 vases already firmly attributed to Welz !
On the plus side his Pallme-Koenig page contains some super rare pieces.
Lots of lesser known producers represented so site has masses of potential.

      Bambus1920,
I agree, I have also found some inaccurate identifications, or double attributions, where one piece is under two producers.
I think for the general public, it can be just as confusing as any other sources, as you know, there is no general consensus for some Czech or Bohemian glass pieces.

I also found some new information I was not aware of. It confirms my point of view, any type of collector may have something to contribute, sharing information is the best approach, as many collectors of all kinds discovered a long time ago.

This was a huge enterprise, and well executed.
