I've seen some posts with George Wallace items lately. I knocked the dust off of some my Wallace stuff and would like to present my Wallace pinbacks.
The vast majority of Wallace pinbacks are relatively easy to obtain. There are a few that are scarce and rarely show up on Ebay, antique/flea markets etc. I was born in Montgomery, Al. and have lived here all of my life. Living here has allowed me to gauge rarity and desirability of Wallace items pretty well.
1st pic: The first pinback with the Confederate Flag is the definitive Wallace button IMO. I've only seen 2 on Ebay and that's one of them you're looking at. I bought 10 out of the 11 pinbacks you see here in a group purchase just to get it. The only other one I've seen caused a bidding war I've never seen on ANY Wallace item. I give this pinback a 10/10 for rarity and desirability. You just never see them.
The second pinback is a "error" pinback, pink/white/blue instead of red/white/blue.
Third one is the smallest Wallace pinback I've ever seen and the only one I've ever seen. Their size is probably why they could get lost and be HTF today.
2nd pic: 1st two are anti-bussing pinbacks. The next two are Wall and an Ace picture buttons. Wall+Ace= Wallace. Both of these were probably non campaign group produced items in select areas. You don't see either type very often, especially the Wall/Ace.
3rd pic. Anti-Wallace buttons. They must be made by independent groups activists, college groups etc. They're simply done with poor artwork and hard to find.
1. Wallace and Curtis Lemay written on mushroom clouds symbolizing their hawkishness.
2. H-bomb with Wallace/Lemay names walking through a nuclear inferno.
3. Wallace removing a KKK hood.
4. "If you liked Hitler, you'll love Wallace "
Final pic. My Wallace pinback collection
I've got some more Wallace stuff I'll try to dig out
Thanks for viewing,
Bill
Wonder how the busing scheme is working today ?
It's "working" just like the rest of "The great society".
Wonder how many Kennedy kids got bus'd ?
