This is one of a series of pieces in varying heights made by Loetz in 1908 in their early "martelé" decor with an applied candia Silberiris base with applied leaves around the stem. They made several other pieces with applied decoration during this time utilizing early decors (silberiris, martele, rusticana) and embellished them with applied leaves, vines, etc. This is the shortest form in this shape, but it is quite heavy - almost 4 pounds! The applied base is about 6" wide.
Lovely piece would look good on any table ..
Would make a great bird bath for my humming bird......I been looking for one for a while...but this is to nice for that ....smiling
‘Tis GORGEOUS !!!
Awesome! Love the silberiris foot.
Beautiful piece of Loetz
I want to put caviar in it right now!
Jericho, that would be an awful lot of caviar! :) The bowl is about 9" across!
Beautiful.
