Art Deco seems to be an influence in many of my vintage, soon to be antique decorative items. I like the spare geometric lines, and the restrained yet bright decor colors.
This box was acquired in France. Measures about 5 inches in diameter. Hand painted and air brushed motifs, and has a country mark with the name of the decor in French. About 1925.

Please excuse my ignorance on items like this...but this is really nice! Studying entomology for fun back in college....the cicada on the lid is awesome :) It is certainly a beautiful desk box!

Very, very nice deco box. Personally I'd rather there wasn't a large bug on the top, but the colours are just beautiful.
