If anyone knows anything about Japanese Silk Art, could you please enlighten me on this beautiful piece? Lol Im stumped!!
Is it legit? Is it silk or paper? (cant work it out)
It seems to be mounted onto a piece of wood with a white decorative background. The final layer covering the image seems to be a clear hardened resin type material. It is peeling slightly in the top right hand corner. The backing is of green velvet type fabric and has a sticker/sign that says -
4-017 (then words in Asian I cant translate)
Forest In Winter
12 - 13 Century
(See attached images)
The actual artwork dimensions are -
42.5cmH x 26.5cmW ( 10.5" x16.45")
