I found this L E Smith soap dish at a thrift shop a few weeks ago. Prior to that, I did not realize the Smith had made such mundane items. This one must have never been used, since the label is still on it. It is 3.25" x 4.75". A nice chunk of glass. I guess it would make a decent paperweight, too. Still going to call it art glass, since it does not appear to be a practical soap dish. Maybe it was made to display decorative soaps?

Pin dish? Pocket coins etc. container? Too nice for a soap dish I say. :-)

Maybe. When I researched it, I found it identified as a soap dish, and that is what I thought it was when I picked it up. I had been waffling about buying chipped Hazel Atlas milk glass soap dish for several days, so maybe had "soap dish" brain...

My tongue in cheek comment..... but you never know. Was thinking part of a set, vanity, desk set, something like that.

I got it, truthordare! It was probably an expensive soap dish and I don't think that I would want to risk it in day to day use. It is also a bit flat for a soap dish. A pin dish would be a better use for it.

Thanks for loving my soap dish!
