    Any advice on where to decode these marks??
    Photo is bottom of bowl....tried to with no avail via google images.... admittedly threw in the towel after 30 minutes....
    Maybe a tourist item? Maybe not.....

      OH!

      This is a very old Japanese cloisonne bowl, with a cloisonne (metal wire and enamel) mark on the base. These vary, this one is a symbol of good fortune, which is used in both China and Japan.

      I collected cloisonne and owned several of these, about 1870 product, before they changed their process and improved the surface and quality of the enamels fired in a kiln.
