Finishing my "8 Days a Week" forray beyond the Hippie Era with these... Game Worn 1930's Red Rolfe NY Yankees Baseball Cap + 1949 Detroit Tigers Managerial Cap with an iron clad provenance. I am from Red Rolfe's home town and we all grew up with stories about Red who was the NY Yankees all time 3rd baseman. Amazingly, I had never met the man who generously gave me these before but as a kid did have the good fortune of meeting him once in the mid 1960s. Strange how life works but forever grateful and they each sit in a glass case. I also have an autograph from when I met him and a news photo and maybe a baseball card left (although I gave the others to my brother along with a glove) tucked away somewhere. I will never sell these, mean too much.

Great hats! I love the stitched name in the Yankee cap.

He is not a guy I was familiar with and had to look him up. No slouch with the bat-- only played 10 years, but hit over .300 four times. In 1939 he hit .329 and let the league in hits (213) and runs (139) and 2B (46).

He was also a four time All Star.

      Thanks for sharing!

      scott
