I finally found a great base for my floral Loetz shade. It is large enough to balance the larger-than-usual glass shade.
The cast iron base was pretty tired looking when it arrived. I gave it an acid bath to remove the heavy layer of rust without taking off the patina, then waxed it to prevent new moisture damage. I rewired it with fabric covered cord and a new-old fatboy socket and uno fitter.
I think the shade nicely compliments the detailed lines of the base with its leaf green threading. The lamp is 18.5" tall.
Update: Photo 4-is a pic of the original Loetz pattern and description. Although some collector may have identified this shade as a Fostoria, this does not mean they were accurate. This shade is undoubtedly a Loetz PN II-5723.
