Like the old HO toy Aurora race tracts . pick them up if I think there a good buy . Found these at flea market in Harrisburg , Pa . They are mostly complete some cars missing , but more interested in the box’s . Have fun with your collecting .,

Nice find, I had a small Model Motoring set in about '63. I remember the box cover was similar to the one you have pictured. The cars were just stock sedans, not race cars. It had gray controllers with a wheel and a "speed" indicator, they just rested on the floor, they weren't like the spring loaded push button and trigger operated latter controllers. It was my first slot car set. Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories.
The track set is dated 1963 . All the cars on the front of the box are new 1963 model cars . Will try and put up the pictures of the inside of the box . The controllers look like what you have described.
