Hi from Sydney!
Now this one I remember! My parents had one in a green, I think.
The green one is the most desirable and most expensive, they usually fetch around $15K. I am in the Sydney area also. Regards
Unfortunately they gave it away years ago. Mind you I saw one at Vinnies in Rozelle six months ago for $500. But I really like your gramophones. They take me back to the fifties when I listened to my Mum's Andrews sisters records in the back yard cubby house. We lived in Five Dock and each day on the way to school I'd go past the AWA sign of the factory on Parramatta Road.
Tomorrow I'll take some photos of my Nifty Nirona record player with the funky dound box and the silhouetted kids and put it up on CW.
$500.00 at Vinnies? what a bargain. I mainly collect gramophones but I took a liking to this radio, I would like to have the green one too, but I would not want to spend $15K for it. I have a collection of The Andrews Sisters records, not all but some, I have always liked their music, my favourites are Boogie Woogie Bugle boy and Hey Daddy, I have a copy of both.
I look forward to seeing your pictures, let me know when they are on CW. Regards
I"ve put the Nify Nirona up on CW. Regards.
