This was a $.99 Goodwill find. It just looks like black glass under casual examination. I didn't think much of it until I peeled off the price tag and saw the Kosta Boda mark. It attracts fingerprints, so I took it into the bathroom and washed it off and was able to see its potential. Very difficult to photograph and probably the worst color possible for one of these, as the swirled black glass makes it look solid black unless is has very bright light behind it and you move it around, which may be why I can't find another like it. Most are made in bright colors. It is 3" high and 3.5" in diameter and a big, heavy hunk of glass, though not the largest size of these Kosta Boda made. No longer in production, apparently. It has a hole in the top for a votive or tealight candle and a depression in the bottom where the maker's name is etched. The other examples on CW did not give the size or show the etched mark, so I am posting this one, though the other two are better examples, color wise.
Thanks for loving my Kosta Boda votive paperweight!
