Time to send the mannequin back to school so he has some new clothes. This the famed Levi's chambray shirt, which was probably the most popular shirt of the 1970s.
I believe this is the cotton/polyester blend which was mid seventies. This would be the type used for embroidery because it didn't shrink or wrinkle. Back in the long ago I had an all cotton shirt and another that was embroidered. I prefer the stock version myself.
The size on this one is either a large boys size or a small men's. It is about a size too large for the mannequin, he wears a boys size 14 or so.
This has the deluxe 2 button cuff and that white strip that goes down along the inside along the button side. Not sure what that was for. Also the orange contrast stitching that runs along the pockets and button front.
Still have another scout uniform ready to go. Sneak preview in the Saturday Evening Scout Post.

Regarding the white strip along the inside edge: can't see it very well but I think it's probably just the selvage edge of the fabric. When a seamstress cut out a garment, if a straight edge of the pattern is positioned along the selvage edge of the fabric, that would give the seamstress an "already finished edge" that did not need to be hemmed or bound to prevent freying of the fabric.

They were durable shirts. I used to wear them with my denim jacket and bell bottoms.

Gosh, it reminds me how we had our favorite brands of jeans, lots of Levis, with the specific number of the style.

Funny, lots of our older generation still wear jeans as their year round wardrobe. I still have a few pairs too. thanks for posting.

Thank you very much racer4four. A pukka shell necklace would be more correct but close enough.
