A recent, & inexpensive find, this Victorian glass vase is made from a single layer of opaque ivory glass which contains uranium & glows green under UV light. It measures 14 cm tall, 7 cm across the crimped top, & 5 cm across the base, which has a polished out pontil mark. The vase has an applied handle in pale amber, as well as a matching applied crest, & an acanthus leaf in ruby, amber, & green.
Once again I'm intrigued by the seemingly endless variations seen in this genre of glass, from the multitude shapes & forms, to the varying colour schemes of the applied decoration.
Most likely English origin I think.
