Within our small collection we have examples of both Type #1 & Type #2 Corduroy "Organizers". These particular machine/ case combinations are dated 1938 (Type #1) and 1939 (Type #2). The pockets/ tabs allow a variety of tools, fashion aids to be held in the lid for easy access.
Very few are known to exist and are treasured by those that are fortunate enough to find them.

They travel (like so many Singer items) in packs. Within a 3-month period last year, I found five of the Type 2 corduroy organizer cases and four of the Type 1 organizer cases, and other than the Type 1 organizer case that was recently on ebay for a very pricey BIN (which I didn't purchase), I've not seen hide nor hair of any since. I think they're migratory critters (and will be watching closely this coming autumn...!)
