This knife is almost undoubtedly Mexican. The first word is probably the knife-making family's name. The second word is "Falcon" and the bird's head is often called an eagle but it could be a falcon. It is one of the classic Mexican designs for handles. The handle appears to be cast-in-place on the tang. The forging work, fuller, stamp, etc. is crude and notice how most of the hammering is on one side only. Perhaps it was made by an unskilled smith. It certainly looks well used (and abused). I would GUESS that it is about 100 years old but I might change that if I had it in hand.
