This is a good sized cookie jar, 10" high and 7" in diameter from an active pottery studio. These currently sell for $75 and probably another $20 for shipping, so I was quick to pay $5 for it at a thrift shop. I am still selectively adding some functional pottery pieces to my household, but waiting to pick up some nice quality pieces. A lot of care went into fitting the lid and it seals very tightly, but there is also a pronounced lip at the top which could be used to tie off some foil, wax paper or cloth as appropriate. A very functional jar.
https://www.allenstonewarepottery.com/ (DEAD LINK!) sorry I didn't document this pottery while the website was active. I think this kiln must be out of business. They made very high quality, usable pottery.
Thanks for loving my cookie jar!
