My Dad gave me this hanging lamp that hung in our living room farm house ever since I can remember and I'm 62 yrs. My grandfather built the house around 1924, and I wonder if this is the first lamp put in the living room. It has the old kind of wiring on it. I know electricity didn't come to the rural areas in WI until around 1935-1940(?). However I've been told my Grandfather was quite the pioneer in advancing the farming industry. Did he also have power before 1935? There was a large windmill on a hill on the farm. I was told by someone who may or may not know, before electricity came to the farms some farmers used windmills for energy to run a few things. However, I'm not sure if it would light a lamp in a farmhouse! There is a worn out tag inside the lamp. Difficult to read, but I think itt says International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Affiliated with American Federation of Labor, Registered B-1050. Does anyone know how I can do more research on this lamp to get more information? Where it came from and how old it could be?
