I think this is a piece of studio jewelry purchased in Seattle ca 1983. I have quite a bit of studio artist jewelry from ca 1978-1992, but a quick search only turned up two pieces, one damaged. This one I used to wear on my overcoat in winter. This may explain why these two pieces are separate from the rest, which I haven't seen for about 25 years, but must have somewhere. Also missing is a sizeable quantity of jewelry I purchased on a trip to Scotland in 1999, when I was living in the house I now own. It must all be here somewhere. This brooch is about 2 3/8" long and 1 3/8" high, marked HL. It has a lot more glitter to it than I could capture. May try to get better images later. Marking it a mystery as I have no idea who made it.
love, love, love, love, LOVE IT !!
I'm as excited as Rose!!
Beautiful red enameling
Thanks for loving my car brooch and your comments antiquerose, racer4four and Newfld! This was always one of my personal favorites, so I never gave it away. I remember some lizard brooches and dangly earrings that were really cool, too. No luck, yet, in finding any of that stuff. I think it may be in my storage room in some unopened since 1992 boxes in the back of a long, deep closet that is completely filled with artwork, spare frames, etc., and then barricaded with a stack of rifles. Sigh. I did find a couple of letter openers that were by Ortak of Scotland and pretty sure I bought several brooches and kilt pins from them when in Scotland. Not sure what else I bought on that trip. That stuff should be separate from my Seattle stash.

@valentino97 - Well, they are all unloaded but they would still cause damage if they fell on you..
