I was delighted to find this small (8" dia) serving tray at Goodwill (for <$3!) because of its obvious similarity to another larger tray I've had for a few years. [shown here: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/247561-mid-century-modern-silverplate-and-form]
Didn't look too closely at it until I got it home -- but it turns out that it is pewter (instead of silverplate like the other) and marked as made by STIEFF as their P-72. Its rim is a slightly different shape (also slightly bent, pic#3) and its formica laminate a slightly different shade/pattern, but I still think they look good on the kitchen shelf together...?? (pic#4)
Cursory research suggests this tray probably first came with a set of 6 "Jefferson Cups" -- essentially pewter shot glasses. I don't think I have any of those (that I know of?) but I have lots and lots of *glass* shot glasses, and I bet this tray would serve them just fine, too...?? ;-) CHEERS!! :-) :-)
