    IT MEASURES 31" LONG
    THE SCALE READS FROM RIGHT TO LEFT IN 2000LB INCREMENTS FROM 0 TO 28000LBS
    THERE APPEAR TO BE INSPECTOR'S TEST MARKS ON THE ENDS
    NO IDEA WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR?

      Going to 28,000 lbs. I would think this would have to have been from one of those drive-on platform scales for cars and small trucks. Back in the 1920s a pick-up truck weighed under 2000 lbs. By the '40s they had only added 1000 lbs. I haven't found a weight for a larger truck, like a dumper, in that age.
