      You are making an assumption when you call this a child's rocking chair and I believe you are wrong from what I see in the pictures. Could you provide a measurement from the floor to the top of the seat and also the width of the seat please? I believe I know what you have but in an effort to not put my foot in my mouth I ask for more information to work with.

      From floor to seat 13"
      Width of seat 15" and tapers to 12" in the back
      Arm measures 11 1/4"
      Back measures 19 1/4 " from seat to top

      It could look odd because of the angle in which I took the picture, probably should have taken the picture at eye level?

      Based on the dimensions I will say you have a nursing rocker/mother's chair/sewing chair they are known by each of the names and not at all a child's rocker. The chair dimensions are for an adult. A child's chair would be scaled down to accommodate the smaller body. If you research you will learn why they were built this way and how they were used.
